The Environmental Protection Division (EPD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) works to protect and restore Georgia’s environment. To help accomplish this goal, EPD sponsors several environmental education programs.

Mission
The goals of Georgia Adopt-A-Stream are to educate citizens about water quality issues and nonpoint source pollution, provide citizens with the tools and training to evaluate and protect their local waterways, encourage partnerships between citizens and their local governments and help citizens collect quality water data.
