Welcome to Georgia Green & Healthy Schools, a new collaborative initiative with a mission to assist and support schools in understanding and practicing environmentally sound principles. All public and private/independent schools (grades K-12) in Georgia are invited to participate in this new program.

The GGHS program begins with a pledge to complete one of the six assessment areas, and is followed by up to three levels of advancement. To participate, students and teachers use assessment tools to conduct school-based investigations on one or more of the six total assessment areas.

Results of this program include cost-saving measures that can save schools thousands of dollars a year in energy, water, maintenance, and other costs. The collaborative nature of this program creates a dynamic and more productive learning environment for the students, while fostering a personal investment in the environment.
