The State Botanical Garden of Georgia


The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is a 313-acre preserve established by the University of Georgia in 1975. It contains 17 acres of cultivated gardens and 296 acres of mixed hardwood forest with more than six miles of hiking trails. Environmental education field trips are scheduled every spring and fall. Please visit our website to schedule a field trip. Information about public events and adult education programs is also available on the website.

Mission
To foster appreciation, understanding and stewardship of plants and nature through research, collections and displays, horticultural gardens, educational programs, and special events.

Cost of Programs/Admission
There is no fee to enter the garden. Fees for field trips and public programs vary.

Features
Teacher workshops are offered for the Georgia Endangered Plant Stewardship Network and Monarchs Across Georgia, as well as other topics.

Accessibility
Buildings and some gardens are handicap accessible.
