Georgia's 14th annual Outdoor Classroom Symposium will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at Zoo Atlanta! This year’s theme is "Get Outdoors! Teaching Locally, Connecting Globally." The full schedule of sessions, workshops, and events is now available. Register now!

The nature of childhood has changed: There’s not much nature in it. National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has issued a new report revealing how America's addiction to time indoors affects our physical and mental health and explores how regular, unstructured outdoor play can boost the health of a child’s mind, body, and spirit.

The Journey South Program uses investigation of natural events and cycles to help teachers incorporate inquiry-based teaching and learning into the curriculum. Get started now... migrations are already underway!

Presentation proposals are now being accepted for the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA)of Georgia's 2011 conference. Proposals should address either the environment, economy, or community. The online submission deadline is September 14, 2010.

Monarchs Across Georgia, a committee of the Environmental Education Alliance (EEA) of Georgia, is offering two $1,000 scholarships to Georgia educators (formal or informal) to travel to the monarch butterfly overwintering sites in Mexico in February 2011. Applications are due October 15, 2010.

Join Windows to the Universe educators this fall for free 90-minute live seminars highlighting science content and classroom activities on topics related to climate change. Offered through the National Science Teachers Association, these seminars are a part of the NASA-funded Global Climate Change Educator Professional Development Network.

The Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network (CLEAN) is seeking nominations of materials to be included in its upcoming collection of educational activities and resources that will help students, teachers and citizens improve their understanding of climate science and energy issues.
