Environmental Education in Georgia

Chattahoochee Nature Center

Founded in 1976, the Chattahoochee Nature Center is located on the Chattahoochee River in North Fulton County. The staff and board of directors of this non-profit organization are focused on interpreting the wildlife and plants along the Chattahoochee River and surrounding areas through programs and exhibits. The CNC is well known throughout the Metro-Atlanta area for its professional environmental education programs, wildlife rehabilitation clinic, attractive facilities, and the Nature Store gift shop. Coming in June of 2009: The new 10,000 sq. ft., LEED-certified Discovery Center will serve as the Interpretative Center for the Chattahoochee River. Filled with minds-on, hands-on exhibits, the center will enter a new phase as it becomes a regional travel destination.
